Those .log files are a part of the backup strategy as they track changes since the previous backup. They should be disappearing on the same schedule that you set for the backup files. Since all those files have longer filenames than your data file, they should usually be further down the list than your data file

Since many vendors or customers have multiple locations and multiple departments, there should be room for an "Attention:" field or department field as a modifier to point to a different address.

An expandable box could also be provided for one or more 'Tags' to be assigned to lines in the transaction.

cstim's suggestion of entering the category first seems like a pretty good work-around for many cases. Another trick that I sometimes use is to start by typing 'z' before pasting or typing the text that I really want, then ctrl-home, delete.

Suppose that when the auto-fill would be triggered it displayed a drop down list of choices, one of which was to cancel, and others would be whatever the various other auto-fill choices fit the situation. Continuing to type would refresh that list. When the list is displayed the up and down arrows would navigate that list.

I don't know about you, but in my neighborhood every city has a different sales tax rate schedule that applies differently to, say liquor, food, gasoline and labor. The tables change frequently as "ins" are voted out and replaced by new "ins"

This limitation is imposed by your financial institution, not by GnuCash. Granted, it is hard to tell because there is no column to show destination account, but I have already posted a bug report covering that problem. I use multiple accounts in one file every month from the one bank that will do it.
