Autofill Feature should show a Drop Down List
When i am typing the description currently what happens is that the first matching record is auto-filled. But It would be more helpful if there was a drop down list (with vertical Scroll) with a list of similar records based on words present in them as typed.
For Example: I have the following descriptions previously entered
Amul Milk - Toned
Amul Milk - Double Toned
Amul Milk - Skimmed
Mother Dairy Milk - Full Cream
Sapan Milk - Skimmed
What happens now is that when i type "Amul" the transaction gets filled with the first match even if have to enter the third one or else i will have to type the whole line
What would be really awesome is if I typed "Milk" and a small drop down list would pop up and i could select Mother dairy from it especially if some else is doing the data entry and does not know how the previous descriptions have been entered.

Isn't this complete? Does anyone close these when the feature is available? p.s. I really like the new feature.

it's a shame that we still haven't got this five years after the suggestion. If a lot of descriptions begin with the same word or two then the autofill will only infrequently select the choice required. For example "dividend, VCT, xxx", "dividend, VCT, yyy", "dividend, VCT, yyy". And if it doesn't select the right one it is necessary to carefully type what you intended otherwise it will simply save another choice for next time, so for example with a miss-type, next time there will be a fourth possibility like "dividend,VCT, yyy". we just need a drop-down box to select from every time you start typing in the Description field. It works beautifully in Quicken.

At first, the autofill should not move the cursor at the end of the line unless the user wants it to do so (with the press of "tab", "enter" or so).
Then, I agree it would be nice to have a choice of available proposal. E.g. automatically updating dropdown is a standard feature in SAP. -

Hmm maybe i didnt make my self clear.
By drop down i mean an un-intrusible non-screen modifying User Interface control like a drop down which aligned right below the transaction in question, listing all past transaction descriptions that match with the keyword typed. Matching could be based on the Key word found any place within the description but with priority given to descriptions where the first word matches and so on. the combination with Key Style auto completion will enhance the ease in data entry. -

why a drop-down list? It blurs things a lot. I would like to just an unnoticeable TAB completion scrolling for very fast skim-reading. Why do you prefer a drop-down list over a key-style auto-completion browsing?
