My point is just to have two additional (and optional) columns for transaction: "Item count" and "Item price". If they are not empty "Tot Spend" column is automatically calculated as Count * Price. That's all.

An error occurred while saving the comment Artur Chrusciel commentedSome kind of labels would be useful to easily group transactions. Of course label functionality can be achieved by proper account structure but sometimes it isn't worth the work needed.
BTW, in the example below I would prefer delegation over inheritance ;) and create virtual accounts:
Properties:Property1
Properties:Property2Then I would transfer from Cash to Electricity through Properties. Every property would be balanced to 0 but have all information about transactions related to this property. (This is similar to example from bugzilla link but transactions in Properties has values.)

An error occurred while saving the comment Artur Chrusciel commentedThanks for a quick answer. Maybe I didn't notice an option for it, but using default configuration I can choose between:
1) Basic Ledger (I suppose this is single line view) which shows:
Shop
Shop
2) Transaction Journal which shows whole Shop transaction
3) Auto-split which combines 1 and 2What I would like to have is a view that shows two lines like a basic ledger but they are:
apple
orange
and there is no line for juice visible. My typical use case is editing entries in Books account where books are splits in big transactions (titled like 'Amazon - order XYZ') containing also music, movies or comics. I would like to see only lines for books when reviewing Books account.

I haven't noticed stock account type previously but I am aware that item counting can be done through another account (this is my "petrol example"). I'm only wondering why don't add easier way of defining transactions for users not interested in adding stock account for every good they are buying.
Stock approach fits better to business use case (where I am buying something to sell it in the future). For consumer only buying price is important. And this simple approach is easy upgradeable to stock concept as we are not loosing any information saving transaction.
