I would think that any tool to enter sale (and purchase for shorts) transactions would have to have a way of dealing with capital gains (at least for accounting, if not for tax). It would be good if various options were availiable (FIFO, LIFO, HIFO selected parcels), but the implimentation would require that cost base already utilised in prior gains/losses is recorded (internally) so that the remaining cost base can be allocated.

It would be nice if this included dividends too (with a blank split to share account so they appear on the Advanced Portfolio report under income). It would be even better if you could import or enter a list of dividends as Date, Code, $/share and have the utility enter all the transactions.

Thank you all for the feedback.

The csv importer is currently being improved on the development branch. Several of the missing parts mentioned here are already being addressed, such as:

    - ability to select transfer account
    - ability to import files exported from gnucash
    - remember account mappings for a future import
