Have notes appear on the same line as the transaction

This is not my idea but azalea4va 's.
I just want to place it for a vote.

Currently there is the option to have Transaction Notes appear as a second line on the transaction.
azalea4va seems to have created already the code to place the notes on the transaction line next to the description.
This is an option that I would welcome in GNUCASH.
And it would not mean that the existing placement of the Notes should go away for the people that wish it.

Maybe azalea4va could provide an option that the notes can be placed
on a new line, same line or hidden all together. based on his screen
shots, maybe azalea4va coded for that option already. If that's the
case, I see no reason why his request cannot be accommodated. Make it my request too. Any other takers.

    I frequently use the Notes line, but normally hide that info by displaying only one line. That's probably why, whey I duplicate a transaction (which I do a lot), I sometimes (too often) forget to check to see if there is something in the Notes field that needs to be changed or deleted.

    One solution would be to have notes display alongside the payee, but I could see a lot of users might find they lack the screen real estate to find that useful.

    What about leaving the Notes on a separate line, displaying at the user's choice, but having a tool tip that would display the note (again, user-optional), and possibly a discreet signal to alert the user to the presence of Notes content.

    I have no idea how feasible it would be to code any of this, and of course I welcome other input and suggestions.

    If those options appear in the same View > menu location as the current choices and the default can be selected in the same way as the current view choice, and the 'out of the box' default does not change, and they also work in the general ledger and 'with child' and stock account registers in the same way as they do now, I could accept the change.

    This should be an option under View, in the same way as Double Line. Different people want/like slightly different display formats, and indeed one person might want/like different display format depending on what display device they are using at the time.
    If it is an option I'm in favour, but against if it's that format or the current one.
