packaging with appimage
Hi, please consider packaging gnucash with appimage (https://appimage.org/) to simplify packaging across different linux distros.

We are in the process of configuring flatpak builds, which is an alternative to appimages and should also be supported by multiple distros.
You can already use Flathub to install a recent stable gnucash version.
I'm not sure we want to support yet another multi-distro package format, so don't hold your breadth on an appimage generated by the gnucash project directly. It may or may not happen.

Plus many of the distros have older versions in their repositories.
