Improve UI reliability on Mac OS X version
I am using GnuCash 2.4.10 on Mac OS X. There are many minor UI bugs. See the list below. Yes, I will file bug reports for a few, but there are many problems.
I suggest that developers and testers allocate some time for testing the basic UI operation on the Mac OS X version, and fix 20-50 minor problems. And/or, consider if there is a weakness in the development process which lets such bugs get into the build.
OK, you will probably suggest that I do the testing, file the bug reports, then download the source, fix the bugs, and submit patches. That's a fair request. It's the price we should be willing to pay for free software. :-)
Sample Mac OS X 2.4.10 UI issues:
* In list of accounts, clicking on disclose triangle has no effect. Subacounts won't open, or won't close.
* Close button in toolbar is sometimes inactive; must use Cmd-W to close tabs.
* In Transaction Report, the toolbar "Options" button is sometimes inactive; clicking it does not cause the Options dialog to appear.
* In some cases where the toolbar buttons are inactive, moving the pointer to hover over an active hyperlink, changing the pointer to a hand shape, caues the toolbar buttons to become active.
* In some cases where the toolbar buttons are inactive, switching to a different Mac application (e.g. with Cmd-Tab) and then back to GnuCash restores the toolbar buttons to active state for a while.
* Windows menu contains 10 null entries between "GnuCash tip of the day" and "Current ledger - accounts - GnuCash".
* When printing to Adobe Acrobat Pro's "Adobe PDF8" printer, printer driver doesn't display its usual dialog box to let me select where it should write the resulting PDF file.
