Point of Sale
My small retail store is growing and I could use a POS option that generates Sales receipts, maintains: inventory, COGS, and checking/cash accounts.

GnuCash is based upon the same principle as most GOOD software: Do one thing and do it well.
POS is a great idea - I use Shopify as my POS.
Now I would like to see it be a bit easier to integrate 3rd party apps (like Shopify) into GnuCash with an API - but this is addressed in other suggestions.
Maybe find the API suggestions and add some votes instead of voting for POS?

I'd be happy to pay for a P.O.S addition to GNUcash. It is vital to running a business, I sadly have to leave GNUcash behind for quickbooks, costs money and is no where as easy as GNUcash

I've used so many POS systmes, the Ones I found easy to work with is QBPOS (free eddition) with limited features, and Nolapro, however the complete QBPOS is very expensive, and Nolapro is partialy Free, for more add-ons you need to purchase them, I believe A complete POS system with barcode scanner reading ability, attached to gun cash would be great.

You're probably right but I still wanted to plant a seed. The system you just described is WAY beyond my technical level. I've been using GC for the last several years but my business has grown past it, (inventory, retail needs). I'm in the slow process of transferring data into Quasar because it's fairly easy for me to understand and well supported. However, my heart lies with GC but I had to ask.....

Something tells me that POS is beyond scope of GnuCash. I run small online retail myself and have PHP script which acts as GnuCash to modify MySQL DB directly. Works for me. All I need to do is to reload GnuCash each time I need to get my teeth into book keeping: GnuCash does not have any way to detect that MySQL DB was modified externally.
So in the end it calls for multi-user editing of DB where one of the users is POS system.
