Note there will be a slight behavioural change in the 4.x release:
In 3.x one could click on any transaction in a Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable account (regardless whether the transaction is for an invoice or payment).

This had two issues:
* payments can refer to more than one invoice. That case is not handled very well.
* jumping from an invoice transaction starting from an income or expense account wouldn't work.

The new behaviour is that you can click on any split of any invoice transaction, regardless of the account register that happens in and jump to the associated invoice. But you can no longer click on a payment to jump to the invoice(s) it pays. This would need more work. Note the mapping between payments and invoices can be retrieved from the owner reports (Vendor or Customer report). Particularly the new owner reports in gnucash 4.0 will have optional extra columns that are particularly helpful in this context.
