Showing recent/all transactions of all accounts as journal accounting
Sometimes I need to check recent transactions but it is not easy and quick to do this.

Add more directory options for opening/importing files.
The ultimate support-any-sync-method option for power users.
For example, I use Syncthing to sync my GnuCash XML data. On Android, this ends up in a location like /storage/emulated/0/sync/gnucash.
Whether using Syncthing or any other custom method, allowing GnuCash to open files from any custom location could support any syncing method (or at least I naively think so).

The account list should show the accounts grouped under account types i.e. assets, bank accounts etc. for ease of navigating.
Th account list is not easy to comprehend if somebody has created a lot of accounts. Sometimes accounts with similar names may exist under more than one account type. To easily navigate to the account that one is looking for, showing the accounts under respective account type headings may help. So if somebody is looking for a bank account, he/she will scroll through only those accounts which are created with account type as 'Bank'. It would be even better if total of all accounts of a particular account type can also be shown against the account type.

Limited Business Functionality for Mobile App
As a small business owner, I pretty much LIVE in the Android app. I can go for weeks without having time to get to my desktop computer. The trouble is, the "business" functionality (customers/vendors) is missing. So, if I buy something from one of my vendors with whom I have a Net-30 account, I can't put it in GnuCash (mobile); if I get paid by a customer who is on Net-30 with ME, I can't mark that invoice as paid.
Since the mobile app is not really designed to have the full database at its disposal, I understand that the…

it would be handy if the transactions could be sorted in ascending or descending date order
it would be handy if transactions can be sorted by date. either in ascending or descending order, depending on the user's preference and requirements.

Please. Place a countdown timer with adjustable time to lock the application or other solution.
To avoid data loss when we have the "Password" enabled and need to go to another application when we are in the middle of completing a new transaction, when we returned to the GnuCash Android it is locked and lost filling what we were doing.

allow "hard schedule" for future transactions. account balances as of future dates become more clear/useful if this is implemented
scheduled actions don't show up in the account view, if they did, it would make it easier for people to understand impacts to balances due to future transactions.. if this is built, I think forward looking reporting would also become more useful

Improve account name representation
It is difficult to find out in which account you are currently staying, when there is a significant nesting in account tree. Specifically, the full account name (with all parents) is displayed on top of the account page, but with large nesting the name does not fit. It would be good to improve this somehow. For example, it will probably be better to display the account name without parent accounts.

not delete transactions when an export (to Google Drive or elsewhere) fails
I have lost my transactions a number of times when my attempt to export them failed and they were still deleted despite the failure. Great product otherwise. Thank you.
